MILES DAVIS | Claudio Lugli

Non è stata una cosa prevedibile …. Adolfo Galli, un caro amico conosciuto alla fine degli anni 80 ad un concerto di Chick Corea che lui aveva organizzato, e che ora è diventato insieme a Mimmo D'allessandro uno dei più grandi promoter musicali italiani, mi chiama e mi dice "Miles è in città. Gli ho parlato di te e vuole conoscerti!"

It was not something expected. Adolfo Galli from the D’Alessandro & Galli a friend met at a Chick Corea concert calls me and says “Miles is in town - He has a concert here tonight and I told him about you and he would like to come there and meet you”-

Ero elettrizzato! E dopo un'ora entra nel mio show room! Che personaggio! Potevi sentire la sua presenza - Mi dice "Ciao!" e mi stringe la mano poi inizia a guardarsi attorno nello show room di 700 metri, tocca i tessuti e poi prende una giacca e la indossa . Si guarda allo specchio e "bang" fai il gesto di estrarre una sìpistola e sparare. Poi viene da me e mi prende sotto braccio e mi sussurra: "CLAUDIO TI FAI ARTE". Penso che non riesco nemmeno a commentare una frase del genere. Aveva capito esattamente quale fosse il mio scopo nel disegnare moda. Un'esperienza meravigliosa ed indimenticabile - Sono felice di aver incontrato una persona così speciale.

Poi andammo insieme al concerto e prima che Miles iniziasse a suonare eravamo assieme io e lui nel suo camerino, e parlammo di un sacco di cose, dalla musica alla moda … e alla cosmesi. Ad un certo punto guardando la copertina di un disco che avevo portato per autografare mi chiede: "Claudio, hai mai cambiato la tua faccia?" Non sapevo veramente cosa rispondere e mi sentii abbastanza imbarazzato ma gli risposi: "No, mai!" - Mi guardò negli occhi e mi disse: "IO l'ho cambiata quattro volte!"

I was just thrilled! After about one hour he enters my Show Room door . What a being!
You could feel his presence - He says “Hi “ shakes my hand and starts walking aroung the 7000 sq feet room looking here and there touching the fabrics -
Then he grabs a jackets - puts it on - He looks at the mirror and “BANG” he shoot.
Then he comes and takes me under his arm and wispers in my ear “Claudio you make ART”
I think I have no more to comment on it -He was there ! He got completely what my aim was and what I was trying to achieve with my clothes-
A wonderfull experience - I am glad I met such a wonderful person.

Later on I went to the venue and before Miles started to play we were together in his dressing room - talking of various things fashion, music and ...... cosmetics.... he asked me - while looking at one of his records which I brought with me to get him to sign it - “Claudio - did you ever changed your face ????- “ - I did not know what to tell him , felt a bit embarrassed but I said “ No never “ - He just looks at me and says “I did it 4 times!"
